Guess What I Found?
A happy ending
Can you believe it? A month after moving to Ithaca, New York, and sending multiple emails followed up by calls, I got the good news that the moving company had my missing-in-action, gigantic sectional sofa.
Sure, I could have filed a claim for partial reimbursement a month ago and let it all go, and at first, I laughed when I was told the large, cozy pieces had disappeared. How does a four-piece sectional vanish? What would I tell the orphaned matching ottoman I had received? But when I thought about throwing in the towel and taking time away from writing to file the claim, shop for a new sofa, and arrange for the delivery, it really bothered me that a paid company could be so careless with my time and belongings and dismissively say “we lost it or someone took it.”
Well, I’m glad I didn’t give up. My lost furniture was delivered yesterday, and with this moving company behind us, we can now say we are comfortably home sweet home.
Have you ever been given an answer you just couldn’t accept?
As always, thanks for being you and I hope you have an amazing Thursday.
Teri

I have had many answers I didn’t want to accept but have learned that the only thing I have control over is my thinking and what I do with those thoughts in the form of action or, by default, no action. It’s best I don’t overreact at the start (difficult for me) as that sets the stage. Often, the “unacceptable” answers have turned out to be a gift and a lesson without my interference and acceptance was key.
I love this, Nicole.
